FRESH PRINCE!

My favorite paper that I am working on for my portfolio is definitely the research paper. I relate to the issues that I address in this paper so much that I could write the paper about myself if I really wanted to! Also, the 8-10 pages lets me stretch out more instead of being condensed and cutting out some things. The essay that is probably my least favorite has got to be the McCandless opinion essay. I think this is because I'm not writing about myself compared to the other two papers where I can personally relate to. The main issue I'm having is the usage of my sources. For some reason this has always been a major issue for me to cite sources correctly and thoroughly through out my papers. Either way I'm going to have to get used to it because this is only the beginning!

Life on the Road

I believe that Chris would have spent the rest of his life on the road impacting different lives for short periods at a time. If he would've made it out he would've had no money and true friends or family so he would have had nothing to resort to. He may have tried to get a job so he could get a car so this journey would be a little less difficult. I don't think he would ever have contacted his parents again because he hadn't for soooo long. His life would NEVER of been "back to normal" after such an extreme stunt like this so I truly believe he would've been a free roamer for the rest of his life

My thoughts of Chris have changed!

When I began this novel I believed he was just this character who believed he was "Superman" (i.e. Supertramp). He was naive and felt he was invincible and had no respect for anyone. With the methods that Krakauer uses by constantly praising Chris and showing him to be this well educated young man that honestly thought he could survive the Wild. He was able to make many short term relationships with people along the way and touched the lives of many. If I would have never read this book and listened to Krakauer's side of the story my thought may have never changed so his methods were EXTREMELY effective.
